Periodontal splint
Wiggly teeth can be stabilised with periodontal splinting. This is a semi-permanent solution to “buy some time” for teeth that lost a considerable amount of bone due to gum disease, making them vulnerable to bite forces.
Teeth get splinted via fibreglass wire using a tooth colour filling from the back. Once splinting is done flossing will not be compromised around the wire (similar to orthodontic wire) and interdental brushes will be needed for cleaning between teeth. All work is done under a rubber dam isolation, costing around $600 with a one-year warranty.
